About Us

Welcome to the Riveride Badminton Club's website, one of London's premier badminton clubs in central London. We are a very friendly badminton club based in Elephant & Castle fielding 6 teams (2 Mens, 2 Ladies, 2 Mixed) in the Middlesex badminton league.

The 2017/18 season is starting soon and we have continued with the same teams as last year. We have two Mixed Teams, one in the Middlesex 1st division and the other in the Middlesex 2nd division, two Mens teams in Middlesex 3rd Division and 2 Ladies teams, one in the Middlesex 1st Division and the other in the Hammersmith 2nd Division.

Home matches are played on Friday nights 8-10pm at Pimlico Academy, situated at Lupus Street, Pimlico, SW1V 3AT.

Past socials include a Monopoly Pub Crawl, numerous Christmas dinners, an evening at Flight Club, and very boozy dress-up Christmas tournaments. Of course, there is always a post clubnight replenishment in the pub!

If you are interested in joining our club please read the information provided here. Our club plays in the sports centre of London Southbank University in Elephant and Castle SE1, right in the heart of London. Please browse to the location page for more detailed information.

Where Are We?

The courts are located in the sports hall of London Southbank University,‎ 110-116 London Road, Elephant and Castle, London, SE1 6LN.

The sports centre is located approximately 3 minutes walk from Elephant and Castle tube stop (on the Northern and Bakerloo lines). The sports hall is accessed via the main entrance just off the main road, just ask one of the friendly reception staff and they'll point you in the right direction!

Joining

The club is currently open for new members but please be sure to first contact one of the persons below if you are interested before coming down to the club night. Our current guest fees are £10 per night

The club night is on Wednesdays from 8pm until 10pm, with the use of up to four courts. Our home league matches are on Fridays from 8pm until 10pm.

The club tries to maintain an off the court side as well (can't take the sport too seriously!), with informal social events throughout the year. Watch the home page for special announcements!

Club Standard

Due to the limited number of courts available, the club operates a "play-in" trial for prospective new members. This is to ensure everyone in the club is of an equivalent standard and helps to maintain a good quality club night.
